We happened to be on this side of town so I suggested we stop here since I remembered it being a good place. I LOVE the fact it was a gas station in it's previous life. The decor is really cute. We came at 2pm on a Wed. and started off with the fried plantain and shrimp mango salsa appetizer. The salsa was sooo good I seriously thought about it the next day. May even try to make this myself. I got the shrimp and oyster po'boy with fries. I do wish it had more meat and lettuce. That's the only reason I didn't give it a 5. Dad got the same with pasta salad. My fiance got the chili dog and housemade chips. All was very tasty and he said he'd like to come back and try their dinner items.

What a serious gem! I stopped in here with a friend go a quick lunch. I've always wanted to go here, so I'm glad that we did get to step in.
We got the Fried Green Tomatoes, which were cooked perfectly. It was crispy, flavorful, and with the right dipping. Next, I got the blackened tilapia as my course and it was very moist, which is hard because most places will dry it out.
My only concern was the dinner entrees were a bit on the higher side, so I didn't get to taste the specials... but other than that it was great. -

Do expect to wait at least 30-45 minutes from ordering your meal to getting it. We expected this so we enjoyed a few cocktails and the awesome shrimp appetizer. Waitresses were super nice, could have checked in a little more. Appetizer 5 stars, the BBQ chicken 3, it was decent, but nothing earth shattering. You do get a ton of food. To sum it up, decent food, good service but overpriced.

So we eat here about 2-3 times a month. Great food, great people. Thursday night they run a prime rib special which is a really, really good meal. They know how to cook here. They also have half price bottles of wine. Their wine is not the best, but decent table wine, and reasonably priced. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The new owner, for about a year now, bought the place from Jake, and has improved on what was already pretty good. Nice to see a small business succeed. Will keep coming back, cause this is seriously good food.

Wonderful service and wonderful food. Perfect fried calamari and shrimp and grits was off the chain! It's 30 minutes from me and I'll be back time and time again that is a promise! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. In fact if they offer franchise options I might even want to get on board because this is food I could sell. I told myself I'd never go back to the restaurant industry but after eating here. I just might.
